Alexandra Hetherington Breckenridge is an American actress. Her career began with minor roles in the teen comedy films Big Fat Liar (2002) and She's the Man (2006). Later, she portrayed the role as reporter Willa McPherson on the series of FX Dirt. She also had an acting role in FX's short-lived series The Ex List. She was a part of the young Moira O'Hara in the first season of FX's American Horror Story, and was Kaylee in the season's third. She was Jessie Anderson's character on the AMC series The Walking Dead. Sophie was the character she played in The NBC show This Is Us. She has voiced various characters on Family Guy, an animated comedy. Since 2019she has appeared as Melinda "Mel" Monroe in the Netflix series Virgin River. Breckenridge was raised in Darien in Connecticut. She moved to California with her mother at the age of 10. They lived in various places for a year before eventually moving to Mill Valley. Breckenridge started to be interested in acting, photography, and singing at age 13. She relocated to Los Angeles with her mother when she was 15 to pursue her acting career.
